Mermaid Parts and their Uses

Had the idea for this after reading about a massive haul of smuggled ivory and pangolin scales. How much of their value is grounded in fact vs myth and would a second thought be given if the animals were more closely-related to humans?

Beethoven First Years

An illustration from the last TKT Grand Series Children's Concerts booklet

This time we had stickers made as part of an activity in the booklet. ( Little-known fact - I love stickers! )

Viking Witch

This was done for an art test a year ago. At the time I thought it'd be cool to take process screenshots to make a gif someday... That day has come.

And another of the same character done in a different style. Somehow she comes across as less menacing despite trying harder.

More Children's Booklets

Some work from the ongoing collaboration with TKT Grand Series' Concerts for Children,

The full spread:

and select pages from a smaller project late last year:

These booklets have been a joy to work on; I'm loving how each concert has a different theme and message, which allows experimentation for the visual style on my part.

Transcending the Ordinary

In late 2014 I had the pleasure of working with Tee Khoon Tang, an amazing world-class concert violinist, to produce marketing materials for her series of Schubert Concerts in May. One of these materials was a flyer to promote two concerts for children. Thought I'd share the ideation/thumbnailing process that led to the final illustration.

-edit-

I received some copies of the children's programme booklet today, it's my first time seeing the final product!

Pickle-Enjoyment Room

A room for the Mayor of Townsville to savour his pickles in. Done in the style of The Powerpuff Girls: Dance Pantsed; the world they created in that TV Special is absolutely gorgeous!

Hell

Last year I did some work for a side-scrolling mobile game, this would be the 地狱 level (Hell in Chinese mythology).

Thought ya'll might be interested in seeing the individual layers making up the environment.
